If you are traveling from out of town, Asheville is known for being an excellent destination. We created this guide to give you ideas on where to stay, and what to do.

 

Whether you love the outdoors a scenery, or food and beer, Asheville has a lot offer and is no longer a hidden secret in Western North Carolina. Ranked as the 16th best place to live and 4th best place to retire by US News and World Reports. Asheville has long been a haven for artists, writers and musicians, and is increasingly known for its innovative chefs who make artistic creations with locally sourced ingredients and craft-brew enthusiasts who have founded unique breweries. 

Asheville has an airport that easy to travel in and out of located about 20 minutes from the office

Biltmore Estate - The largest private home in the United States, Built by George Vanderbilt and still owned by his decendents, this is definitely Worth the visit if you have 4 hours to 1 day to spare.

Downtown - Known for having some of the best Art Deco Architecture in the country, downtown is a great place to walk around and spend an afternoon or evening and find some great local food. 

Arboretum – 65 acres of beautiful gardens

River Arts District – local artist studios, in a former industrial district along the French Broad River

Grovewood Gallery – Arts, crafts, history and old-world charm. Located on grounds of Omni Grove Park Inn. Separate parking area from hotel is available at the Gallery.

Omni Grove Park Inn – Resort accommodations, dining and day spa. Nice hotel to walk through or enjoy some “seated” time in lobby or various porches. Commonly live instrumental or piano music in lobby. Can be a busy location. Parking often limited.

Blue Ridge Parkway – many scenic views by car or on foot and many hiking trails

Mount Mitchell – highest point east of the Mississippi, accessible via the Blue Ridge Parkway 

Mount Pisgah Inn Restaurant – rustic dinning accessible via the Blue Ridge Parkway
